April 18, 2024 – A new era of collaboration and community development was sealed as the Philippine Electronics and Communications Institute of Technology (PECIT) and Barangay Lumbocan CES officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). With the theme “Uniting for Community: Strengthening Bonds and Empowering Lives,”
the event underscored the shared commitment of both institutions to education, research, and community service. The ceremony gathered key leaders, including Hon. Reinerio M. Salcedo, Punong Barangay of Lumbocan, alongside members of the barangay council. Representing PECIT, Founder and President, Engr. Romeo L. Zerrudo, stood at the forefront, joined by the college’s esteemed departmental deans. Their presence was complemented by Executive Vice Chairman, Mrs. Maria Cecilia Z. Matillano, whose leadership was instrumental in forging this partnership. Also in attendance was Academic Affairs Director, Dr. Romeo O. Aprovechar, a staunch advocate for educational innovation.

The MOA solidifies PECIT’s commitment to sharing its academic expertise and research capabilities with the local community. This partnership aims to enhance educational programs, foster research collaborations, and expand community extension services, ultimately creating greater opportunities for students and residents alike. Spearheading the event’s success was the PECIT Research and Extension Office, led by Ma’am Josephine U. Acha.
